New Years Honours

Olympic swimming heroine, Rebecca Adlington, expressed her
pleasure after receiving an OBE in the New Year Honours.
The 19-year-old from Mansfield captured the hearts of the entire
country with her astonishing successes in Beijing, where she was
victorious in both the 400m and 800m freestyle.
Upon receiving the award, Rebecca said: "I'm absolutely
delighted to receive and accept the OBE - it is fantastic to be
recognised in the New Year Honours List. There are so many amazing
names on the list, it's something I'll treasure for the rest of my
life."
