Commonwealth Games Trials
19 March, 2010
I'm really looking forward to the
British Gas Swimming Championships in Sheffield on March
29th - as it's the first chance to qualify for the
Commonwealth Games later in the year. Obviously the 800m and 400m
are my main focus, but I'd also really like to qualify for the
4x200m relay, as I love the race.
As I have said before, if everything goes to
plan, the Commonwealth Games in Delhi will be the first time I have
ever raced for England and I'm excited about taking on my friends
from the other home nations. As we normally compete as Great
Britain, its always a bit of a surprise to see team mates racing
for Scotland and Wales as I sometimes just assume they're
English!
I expect the overall competition
to be strong as all the best swimmers in Britain will be
competing, so the meet will be a good challenge. I
also hope the atmosphere will be the same as Duel in the Pool and
the recent GB vs Germany meet, as it was electric and the crowd
noise was unbelievable - it really does lift you as an
athlete!
Tickets are still on sale for the
