Sunny Spain!
16 June, 2012
In the past few weeks I have the
pleasure of two visits to Spain. The first trip in early May was
for a training camp in Torremolinos with the Nova team. We trained
hard for 10 days, swimming in an outdoor, long course pool (50m
rather than the usual 25m) but it was so worth it to see a bit of
sunshine…. seriously what is it with our weather at the
moment?!
The second was to compete in the first leg of
the Mare Nostram tour with the British Swimming team, which took
place in Barcelona over the Jubilee weekend.

It felt great to race again and I was thrilled
to win the 800m and be awarded top girl! The best thing for me
though was swimming a time under 8mins 20secs, I didn't rest down
for the event so doing 8.19 during hard training is very
re-assuring!

I'm back home in the UK now until the Olympics
so lots of hard work lies ahead. I'm trying not to think about it
too much at the moment and thankfully my family are keeping me busy
with bridesmaid duties (my sister Laura gets married next year) and
lots of meals out!

PS. Don't forget it's Father's Day tomorrow!
My parents came out to support me in Barcelona so I at least owe my
dad dinner ;-)
