Sensational SW19

5 July, 2010

I spent the most amazing day at Wimbledon for the Women’s Singles Final on Saturday. I’ve never been to the tennis before, and it was such a good experience. You get so close to the action and to see the speed and power of the shots live rather than on the TV was a real eye opener, they hit it so hard!

Commonwealth Games Trials

19 March, 2010

I’m really looking forward to the British Gas Swimming Championships in Sheffield on March 29th – as it’s the first chance to qualify for the Commonwealth Games later in the year. Obviously the 800m and 400m are my main focus, but I’d also really like to qualify for the 4x200m relay, as I love the race.

Review of 2008

Where to start with a year that contained so much.... My first major event of the year was the Olympic Trials. Without any doubt, the most emotionally draining domestic event I’ve ever experienced. Everywhere I looked I saw athletes crying, either because they had missed out on the GB Olympic Team, or through sheer elation and relief at making it.
