I absolutely loved being part of The Jump and had the most incredible time out in Austria. The people were all so lovely and it was so much fun.
It was just so devastating to have to leave the show with an injury. Everyone’s been brilliant though and so supportive – the physios and producers and everyone working on the show out there have been really good.
Since coming back to the UK I’ve had more great care and I really appreciate all the support and treatment I’m receiving for my shoulder. I got back on Monday, had an MRI scan on Wednesday and I’ll be having surgery tomorrow (Friday), so it’s been really quick and I’m so grateful to the incredible people looking after me.
It’s been hard seeing some of the other guys on The Jump getting injured too but I know they’re all being well looked after. It’s been really unlucky this year with lots of us getting hurt, but everyone’s injuries are different and weren’t caused in the same way. I just hope they all get well soon and make a quick recovery.
For the guys still on the show, I just want them to be safe and keep on enjoying it as they sound like they’re having the best time out there.
No one likes surgery but it’s something I’ve got to deal with tomorrow. I’m looking forward to my shoulder being repaired and not having to worry about it, so I can get back to my active lifestyle and start swimming again as soon as possible.
