Rebecca took to the pool tonight in her first big race since victory in Beijing. The highly anticipated event saw her go head to head with her friend and rival Joanne Jackson in the final of the 400 Freestyle and it could not have been closer. Much to the excitment of the home crowd, the two swam side by side for the majority of the race with Joanne edging ahead with 150 metres to go to set a new World Record in a time of 4.00.66. Rebecca secured a personal best time of 4.00.89 also faster than the previous World Record and a personal best time by over a second.
